Sebastian Mennes (1984) is serial-entrepreneur, speaker and writer. Moreover, he qualifies as ‘experience expert’ when it comes to mental challenges, provided that a burn-out floored him in his twenties and he faced the darkness of depression in his thirties. Like no other, Sebastian is well aware of the challenges of our technology-driven, performance-oriented society. He told his compelling story in front of 14.000 people at Inspiration360 in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, on the same stage as Richard Branson, Al Gore and Bear Grylls. Since he sold his online agency in 2017, he focuses on breaking taboos surrounding mental challenges. To that respect, he gives lectures, masterclasses and is currently writing a book: CutTheCrap.me

Sebastian found out the hard way that entrepreneurship is not merely a matter of success-stories. In 2009, he was listed as one of the most promising entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. But 2 years later he ended up on his parent’s couch with a burn-out, and went nearly bankrupt. He managed to recover in the years that followed. But when his company didn’t go too well some years thereafter, he also faced the darkness of a depression. In the end, he turned things around, pivoted to success and eventually sold his company. Sebastian will share the lessons he learned about the dark periods in his life, and share tips, tools & life-hacks when it comes to finding work-life balance.
